DENVER BRONCOS

OFF SEASON CHANGES

The front office's biggest off-season swing was trading multiple picks, including their 2026 first-rounder, to Miami for receiver Jaylen Waddle - the No. 1 target this offense has lacked under Sean Payton. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and QB coach Davis Webb, promoted to offensive coordinator, both stayed despite head-coaching interest elsewhere. The Broncos have mostly run it back with their core from last season other than the Waddle inclusion. It’s not hard to see why as they were just one win away from a Super Bowl and Bo Nix missed that AFC Championship game.

QUATERBACKS

Bo Nix owns the most wins by any quarterback in his first two NFL seasons (24), and the belief internally is that Denver would have reached the Super Bowl had he not broken his ankle in the divisional round. Nix finished with 3931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions but also added 356 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. Honestly, I still haven’t been fully convinced on Nix, but I might have to change my opinion now. He wins games and has learned to manage game situations really well. If he can improve again this year and the Broncos challenge again, he will likely be in contention for MVP. He’s currently the 18th favorite at +3500 which seems a little crazy to me… Especially seeing as I have the Broncos winning this division. Value play for you there.

RUNNING BACKS

The Broncos have a nice rushing attack when healthy. JK Dobbins showed he’s still got plenty of juice, recording 772 yards in just 10 games. That’s an average of over 77 yards per game which had him ranked as a top-5 running back in the NFL before his injury. Dobbins is healthy now and will likely split reps with second-year RB RJ Harvey. Harvey showed some really good signs last year but also hadn’t fully gained the trust of coach Sean Payton. He finished the season with 540 yards but the 3.7 yards per carry was very underwhelming, especially compared to Dobbins’ 5 yards per carry. Harvey did have some massive plays through the air and recorded 356 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. They’ll form a nice one-two punch this season.

RECEIVERS

Jaylen Waddle immediately becomes Nix's best-ever weapon and a potential game changer for this offense. Waddle has averaged over 1000 yards per season in his five NFL seasons and Nix will be an upgrade to any QB he’s played with. His receiving line for the season is just 925.5 yards which I think is low. Waddle's ability to win after the catch on quick, high-percentage throws fits Nix's game perfectly and should finally unlock an offense that's underperformed its talent level for two straight seasons. It’s a nice pairing with steady veteran Courtland Sutton to give Denver its most dangerous receiver duo in years. We can’t forget about Troy Franklin either who recorded 709 yards last year, as well as tight end Evan Engram who is one of the most athletic players in the NFL.

DEFENCE

Denver's defense led the NFL with 68 sacks and ranked third in scoring defense (18.3 points per game) in 2025. It’s hard to argue that they aren’t the best defense in the AFC. They’ve got superstars across the field with Pat Surtain II — the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year — anchoring a secondary that also features breakout safety Talanoa Hufanga. Nik Bonitto's 14 sacks and Zach Allen's interior push give this unit legitimate difference-makers at every level.
