OFF SEASON CHANGES

After finishing with a 13-4 record last season, the Jags front office decided not to make too many big changes. All three coordinators remain the same – they are one of the few teams to not change a coordinator or head coach this off-season. Travis Hunter will now play defense full time and is unlikely to feature in many wide receiver sets. The biggest trade for the Jags was sending defensive tackle Maason Smith to the Falcons and getting defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro in return. Their first pick in the draft wasn’t until number 53, where they took tight end Nate Boerkircher to back up Brenton Strange.

QUATERBACKS

Trevor Lawrence finished fifth in NFL MVP voting after a career year: 60.9% completion, 4,007 yards, a career-high 29 touchdowns, plus 359 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, both career highs. Over Jacksonville's final eight games, the team outscored opponents by an average of 33.6-14.5 with Lawrence playing the best football of his career. They’ll be hoping he can go to new heights this year with an offense that remains largely the same. His passing yards line for the season is just 3750.5, a number that he has easily cleared in three of his five NFL seasons. If he stays healthy, I don’t see any reason why he doesn’t go over that number again. There might be some value on his rushing touchdowns too – he had nine last season and his line is just 4.5 this year, plus Travis Etienne is gone.

RUNNING BACKS

The Jags’ rushing attack was in the bottom half of the league last season, with just over 115 yards per game. Travis Etienne led the way with 1107 yards but he has now left for the Saints, so there’s a big opportunity for second-year RB Bhayshul Tuten. He showed some good signs last year, especially with his ability to break tackles. Having said that, he only averaged 3.7 yards per carry from 83 attempts. Tuten will lead the backfield but the Jags did also bring in Chris Rodriguez Jr, formerly with the Commanders. Rodriguez carved out a starting role with Washington at some points last season and finished with 500 rushing yards on the season. Liam Coen likes to share the load with his backs, so we can expect to see plenty of both. I still think Tuten is the better option for fantasy drafts and he’ll get his chance to lead the way early in the season, with Rodriguez also returning from injury.

RECEIVERS

Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers give Trevor Lawrence one of the deepest receiver rooms in football. BTJ is an interesting one – he had an average second season and dealt with some injuries and drops. He did finish with 707 yards but there are still some trade rumors lingering around him. Reports are that BTJ is having a nice camp though so he could have a bounce back season. The emergence of Parker Washington was a big surprise last season. He had 847 yards on the season and 107 yards and a TD in their Wild Card loss to the Bills. Jakobi Meyers is another who ended with 800+ yards after his mid-season trade from the Raiders. All three guys are capable of big games, and with Travis Hunter now expected to contribute primarily on defense rather than offense, they should all get plenty of targets. Tight end Brenton Strange is also a good receiver and this group should be a clear top-10 passing attack.

DEFENCE

The Jags finished the season with one of the best defenses, allowing just 14.5 points per game in their final eight games. Antonio Johnson was PFF's top-graded safety in 2025 despite not starting Week 1, finishing with five interceptions (tied for second-most in the NFL). Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker anchor the pass rush, and Travis Hunter's move to full-time cornerback gives this defense a potential shutdown corner opposite Jarrian Jones. This unit has real star power at nearly every level.
